137 Steps

It was that time of year again last week, but not the same time of year as it was the year before – confused? Well, as a child I could not get my head round why it was that Jesus died on a different day each year.

137 steps up are the number of vertical risers climbed by the pupils of Blakeney Primary School each year on their way to release symbolic balloons to mark Acension Day – which this year fell on Thursday 13th May (40 days after Easter).

Blakeney Church has to offer one of the best views of North Norfolk available to anyone without a pilots licence, so I took the opportunity again to get up there and take a few photographs.

The top image was taken facing West looking over towards Morston and Stiffkey and is a compostion of five full size photographs. The above panoramic looks East out over Cley with Skelding Hill, Sheringham just visible in the distance (see image below). The East facing image prints out at a little over 1.5m in length and uses seven images –  so I had to squeeze it down a little to fit on this page.
