The Tour of Britain is the UK's biggest professional bicycle race and a centrepiece of the British sporting calendar, attracting over a million spectators to the roadside, and hundreds of thousands more on television and via the internet.

Having covered much of the route myself back in the days when I was doing a bit of road racing – I think some of the riders are in for a bit of a shock if they believe the Norfolk stage to be a totally flat day out on the saddle! The cyclists should reach Holt somewhere around 1.15pm, having just nipped up Beacon Hill from West Runton to Aylmerton for the days second King of the Mountains climb. Yes, a King of the Mountain stage in Norfolk (well there are actually three).
